Collectors’ treasure Mr Ruck comments…
Ed, this is my #21 guitar, it was made for Bill Pope in 1969. I last heard from Bill some years ago and he was living in Pompano Beach according to a telephone message he left me. Indeed it is a Flamenco Blanca in the style of the great Spanish makers Barbero, Domingo Esteso and Santos Hernandez whose work I was quite familiar. I did live in Miami where I built guitars up to 1973…. I have made over 1050 guitars and can not really keep up with all of them. I wish you well and much enjoyment from your guitar….Robert Ruck 08/01/2014 The Robert Ruck Flamenco Blanca is in very good condition for its age. It has a very responsive spruce board, perfect straight fingerboard and neck, warm and balanced sound with strong fundamental tone. The guitar is very light and low action with an impeccable neck profile. The pliability of the instrument is just superb. The 1970 Ruck have been lightly restored by Luthier Jorge de Sofia. The saddle has been re routed, six wholes has been added to saddle for better string angle and tone strength. The bone has been replaced. The guitar has been kept in ideal conditions for the last 30 years.
