The Juan Hernandez Concert Cedar is a superb, concert-grade Spanish guitar, handcrafted in Valencia, Spain by renowned luthiers Juan and Alberto Hernandez. The guitar features a mature Western Red Cedar top, paired with Indian Rosewood back and sides for warm, resonant tones and exceptional projection. Its Ebony fingerboard sits atop a Cedar neck reinforced with ebony, enhancing the instrument’s structural integrity and long-term tonal stability. Other elegant details include rosewood binding, a beautifully intricate mosaic purfling, and a premium nitrocellulose finish for maximum sonic responsiveness.
With a medium action (3.5mm) and Savarez Crystal Red (normal-medium tension) strings, the Concert Cedar delivers a soft, responsive neck profile—comfortable even for players with smaller hands. About the Luthier:
Born in Turís, Valencia, in 1948, Juan Hernandez began his journey as a luthier at age 15 in the Esteve workshop, where he honed his exceptional skills. Today, alongside his son Alberto, he continues the legacy—crafting some of Spain’s most exquisite classical and flamenco guitars, each built with passion, patience, and refined artistry.
