Andrés Segovia launched his career playing this guitar; he concertized and recorded with it from 1912 to 1937 and played it at his United States debut in New York’s Town Hall in 1929. The Same model with Maple back and sides,  was owned by Segovia’s student. At the time this instrument was made by  Santos-Hernández who worked for Jose Ramírez. The two-piece back was made of Brazilian rosewood, and it was replaced by curled maple; the two-piece top is made of spruce. Antonio de Toledo, in partnership with W. Jellinghouse Guitars, represents a new generation of Spanish guitars that fuse mastery and tradition with modern technology.

The Antonio de Toledo Segovia 1A is a concert classical guitar made from the highest quality tonewoods for professional guitar players. Inspired by the designs and templates of Manuel Ramirez and Santos Hernandez, the Ramirez model is a 100% handmade guitar that utilizes selected tonewoods, following the Spanish luthier tradition while combining both traditional and modern guitar-building methods. The  Segovia 1A model is very, very, very lightweight, featuring a powerful, well-balanced tone, with long sustain, effortless tone, and strong projection.

The Antonio de Toledo  Segovia 1A features a German spruce top (aged finish), a spectacular Curled Maple (aged finish) back and sides, an ebony fingerboard, a cedar neck, and a very comfortable D-shaped neck profile. The straight fan bracing provides the perfect balance of colorful sound, big volume, and outstanding projection. This is a wonderful guitar suitable for advanced, professional players and collectors. Be prepared for a robust, transparent, and beautiful tone. This guitar is recommended for all style players as well, it is extremely comfortable.

The guitar includes a GFS Deluxe wooden hard-shell case, one set of Savarez strings, a guitar cloth, a Humitron humidifier, and a universal guitar protector (accessory package valued at $250 included).
