Wolfgang Jellinghaus who was born in 1951 in Dortmund, Germany. His father, Walter Jellinghaus, was himself a guitar maker and naturally introduced the craft to Wolfgang at a young age. In 1978, Wolfgang opened a retail music shop called Musik Jellinghaus GmbH and in 1983, he became involved in manufacturing and so created Martinez Guitars, designing their first line of guitars.

In 2013 he set up a small boutique, a traditional workshop that specialized in making high-quality guitars in the style of such great historical makers as Lacote, Torres, Hauser, and Ramirez, among others.

Dedicated to honoring the work of luthier Matthias Damman, La Alemana 1A, the double top has a Nomex honeycomb in the middle of the 2 tops & ll wood lattice bracing,  A very light instrument to hold, extremely balanced, easy to play with excellent tone and projection. The Aleman 1A is a great choice for anyone looking for a German-style double top with spectacular balance, sensitivity, and volume. French Polish finish. Includes Humicase, 1 set of strings and guitar protector.
